Hi The Strykers have a lot of drag to them, its best to use a APC 6 x 5.5 prop to get the thrust that you need to push them Fast, Here is a nice motor from Heads up RC that should push your Stryker to about 100 MPH.

http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the...450-Jet/Detail

The Power Up450 Jetis a 2.8 ounce, 600 watt, 2950KV outrunner brushless motor that works well on many small to medium size models designed for high speed.

This motor is an excellent choice for the Multiplex Funjet or Funjet Ultra, and will provide speeds over 100 mph using a 3 cell Lipo battery. To reach this speed, we recommend using the Emax 60A ESC with switchmode BEC , an APC 6x5.5E prop, and an EZ Flite 11.1v 2600 35C Lipo battery. We tested this power system on a Funjet, and we measured a speed of 105 mph in level flight (using a radar gun).

This would be a good power system for the Stryker and large flying wings as well.

Also use metal gear servos, the plastic gear servos might not be good enough for speeds of over 100 MPH, also use 3/4" Wide Balsa Aileron stock for the elevons, the foam elevons may be to weak for speeds of 100 + MPH, use CA hinges, and epoxy them in the foam and balsa aileron stock, cut them in half length wise, so they are not to stiff for the smaller servos, I would not use the orange receiver, I think they may be a park flier receiver, and you could get out of range real fast and loose the stryker, use a AR6200 or good 2.4 Full range Receiver, also use a UBEC and disconnect the red battery wire from the esc to the receiver, you cant use the ESC BEC and the seperate UBEC at the same time, or the ESC will burn up,the UBEC will help to prevent a 2.4 receiver Brown out, Hope that helps, Chellie.

I purchased three of the 6 channel orange hard case and three of the 6 channel non-cased. I have done full range testing on both of them comparing them with conventional spectrum RX's. Please keep in mind that these are my results and may not be identical for you. I got these figures and was able to reproduce them every time. Assume each pace is worth about 3 feet. Range testing was done per the manual in range test mode on my DX6I and measured once the signal got inconsistent.

-Spektrum AR6200 with satellite RX 55 paces

-Spektrum AR6100 V1(not such a great RX)- 9 paces

-HobbyKing 6CH Orange Case RX- 25 paces

-HobbyKing 6CH case-less RX 45 paces

yes, the case-less 6ch has the best range by far but I wouldn't recommend these for any long distance(or FPV) unless you have a satellite receiver RX. Hope this helps.

that jet 450 is going in my funjet, using a 60amp plush with a 4cell zippy. also dropping down to a 4.1x4.1 prop for bench test wattage pull....may try 4.5x4.5 .if it proves to much for the esc,I'll got with an 85amp thats in another plane that needs a 100ampesc replacement. unfortunately this esc is not used yet and i don't know if the QC from turnigy is adequate.
