This year it was my SuperFly. (A Christmas gift from my wife.) Everyone said it was a quick and easy build. They were right. With only a few hours and a couple of hot glue sticks. It is done and ready for a test flight. The build instructions were easy to follow with very few tools needed. Basicly all I needed was a hot glue gun, a few glue sticks, razer blades and a straight edge. I started out with a maiden in the back yard. It went ok for a few short minutes. After a 20 minute brake trying to get my new plane out of a 30 foot tall cypress tree. I decided it would be better to move out to the flying field when the plane finally left it's perch and came down. Flying at the field with this thing was a blast. It is a lot of fun for not a lot of cash. My kit was around $80.00. With a 1600Mah 2s Li-Po I got about a 10 min flight. After the 10 min, my fingers were getting cold and it was time to call it a day. -Andrew |

I love my minify. I fly it with a 610mah 2s rhino lipo for relaxing flying and high speed passes. Longest flight just over 30 minutes. its my go to plane when I don't want to worry about crashing. I've smacked the ground trying stupid fun moves more than I can count and the most repair I've done was a shot of hot glue on the vert stabs.

I love the Superfly.....just ordered a new today.
Had one a few years ago and was such a hoot flying it. I put lights on it so I could fly it at night.

The micro fits on one of the saddle bags on my bike. Lots of fun to fly. This is my fourth Superfly plane, all are still flyable with a bit of CA and some cleaning up!

those superflys do it all,a few guys at the field fly combat with ther foamies and the fly can nose into the ground only to be tossed back up undamaged.
i would love to trace the frame of the superfly on some dollar store foam and laminate carbon fiber rods inbetween the sheets....then get into the fray with those other pilots at a fraction of the cost ...lol .

alrighty then, this seems to be the best place to discuss making my own superfly type/delta,or superflea type/delta
. i got a plan by goggleing"plans to build a superfly" and it took me to another forum site where i got this drawing in pdf file form.![]() i printed it out at work on 7x11 paper ...then went to staples to have the copy girl try many times to get the size i wanted. when finnished she had a pile of scrap tries on the floor of all different sizes. what a sweetheart she was to keep trying and in the end rolled all the copies together and charge for the one final copy i wanted.... .so heres the question,i'v never build a scratch delta and went to a dollar store to look at foam board. man, that stuff is thin. i'v seen the real superflys and they seem to have a thicker/denser foam. like the fanfold pink insulation foam that comes folded 4ft by way to many ft to use...lol... . and i also have a piece of insulation foam board thats 5/8" thick 2'x8'ft that feels riged.steve, how do you build your superfly copies? do you build in the topsurface airfoil or leave it flat? i have a 30amp esc,2200kv motor and all sizes of 3cell batteries. have servos, rods, horns, clevises, dence flexible foam to wrap the esc and rx and battery over like the superfly has... ect...ect...hot glue gun and gorrilla glue.Attached Files
whats to strongest way to build this delta, and keep in mind i want to combat 3 flying buds at the club field and we'er not talking ribbon cutting...lol ...more like cut to ribbons . thanks for any suggestions as i want this bird to look as close to the real superfly as possible in build and endurance. stu
