40 years with my 86" Miss Delaware, I think I like her
The "engine" is a fake one I cobbled up and sits over a 35-48-1100 Rimfire motor.

My HobbyKing MoneyShot.
1) It has a funny name and is an endless source of smutty jokes. 2) It makes the 3D elitists and elitist wannabes see red. 3) It's a complete hoot to fly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I love different planes at different times but ... my lightweight Stryker is about my most relaxing and fun at the moment. Easy to fly slow or (kinda) fast. Has lights to fly at night. If I crash it, it doesn't break. No worries at all.

That's got to be my Showtime 50 with a Hacker A60-16S motor, 16X12 APC-E prop and 7S2P A123 battery system. That power plant will haul that 8 pound model straight up out of sight. And, the Showtime 50 is fully acrobatic, with absolutely no bad habits.

My absolutely stock, except for retracts and only crashed once, PZ Corsair. She's my old standby. So predictable, I'll even take her up in the gusty winds. I just ordered one of those Hobby Lobby scale adjustable pitch 3 blade props. It'll be interesting to see what that will do.

Different favorites for different kinds of fun:
The Eflite Jenny for relaxed still air flying - it's just great to cruise by at eye level at walking speed. :-) The 1/6 Balsa USA Pup for WWI "Dawn Patrol" scale flying; barrel rolls, Immelman turns, and wing overs look wonderful with this plane! The Dynam A10 edf for the cool factor; it's a jet, a twin, and a warbird, that flies like it's on rails, what more could you want? |

The kit comes with the fan already mounted to the motor and thrust tube installed. It also comes with an ESC. Two servos and a reciever and you're in buisiness. Here is a build / appreciation thread that has all kinds of information in it. LINK |

I notice that 'fun' is defined differently by different people. To me, a fun plane is relaxing and worry-free but I notice others tend toward the 'exciting' end of the spectrum.

Thanks for the info Max and Mcclarkson
Already contacted them to see if they ship one to Tasmania without sending me broke over the postage cost . It's bizarre that I can get stuff from thousands of miles away, and they charge less than what it costs to mail it from mainland Australia . Let you know how I get on, cheers

I hate to admit it, but my HZ Super cub is the plane I always enjoy flying.
I've had many scratch built planes. a slow stick, warbirds. The cub is even more fun now that I got my brother in law flying one. and now four of his friends have one. It's a blast having six identical planes doing full contact combat at our field. |

My most fun airplane is my HZ Super Cub. I've done so many ridiculous things with it (to it?). I've flown it in a heavy, wet snow until the wings iced over. She still flew! I've flown her full speed into a large oak tree. I've bashed her into multiple pieces on multiple occasions. But, once I put her back together, she always flies like a dream!
This is what she puts up with: |

All of my landings are three point landings if you count the spinner, too

Has to 'Bee' the Clancy Aviation Lazy Bee for me.
This one is my sixth - the first was an OS15 slimer version back in 1994, followed by my first electric Lazy Bee in 1995 - they 'Bee'n' electrics ever since. Must say something - I usually design my own models, as I can't stand the idea of wondering 'Now, which is mine?' when its time to pack up and leave the field at the end of the flying session But I've built and flown six of these - and three of their close cousins, the Speedy Bee - since that first one. This one has an Astro 020 geared inrunner under the bonnet, on 3S LiPo or A123, for around 250W. Not bad at a flying weight around 36oz, pack dependent. Every time I fly her, I'm grinning like the proverbial kid in a candy store. D |
