Big changes for SEFF 2012! Good ones too!

Well guys we're starting to see some of the changes for SEFF this year with the new lake that went in at Hodges. Mac has an awesome looking lake now and the east end of the field that used to flood during storms has been elevated with the fill from the newly dug lake leveling out the field even more. Who would have ever dream that mac could improve on his place but from what I can tell of the photos he surely has.

With the new sod that will need to be protected through the spring there will have to be some concessions as to setups this year. There will be a significant "no walk" zone to protect that turf.

All the flight lines have been re arranged to accommodate everyone as best as can and to ass a float plane flight line as well.

In addition to the lake they have also added more RV hookup spots on the west end of the field. I'm fairly certain they have all already been spoken for though. Buit what another great addition!

anyway, just thought I'd share some of what I've been reading and seeing. I can't wait to head south again on our annual pilgrimage!

We're looking at bike compatible planes to bring along too. I like the micro version of the Superfly. 12"x12" and EPP. Wonder if I can put LED's on such a small critter and run them off of two cells.

Probably the Friday Prior Andrew. Wont be able to do more than a week off for school more than likely so we'll head out Friday afternoon. Not set in stone yet though as we'll leave as soon as we can make it happen...

Hello all,
First time SEFF'er here!! Can anyone tell me what I can bring as far as size? I've never been.

I don't think size matters as long as it's electric.

Well lets see now. 2 years ago, I saw a guy with an electric powered plane that had a wing span of around 18 feet. Last year I saw a guy with a micro plane that you could fly in a smart car. Like Turner said, as long as it is electric powered.

Bring whatever you want! There are flight lines for everything and everything is welcome!

The first year we, my Son and I, went we thought we would be so intimidated with the stuff we had. That was just not the case. Everyone that goes to SEFF makes you feel right at home no matter what you are flying, or not flying, for that matter.

This is the biggest, small fly in you will ever go to!

And ummm... you live right around the corner from me... Do I know you?

I don't think I was there that day. Would like to meet you and give you the lowdown on SEFF if you want. I hope to be out at the field next weekend weather permitting... this weekend sure was a bust huh?

Hey thanks for the info and if I'm not busy I'll come to the field. My Extra's not quite ready yet as I need a canopy. I'll bring something to fly I'm sure.

Hey Bill,
Just wanted to let you know that I've created a Facebook page for R/C flying. Check it out on FB by the name of 3D R/C Flying. I'm pulling together modelers to share knowledge of setup and build as well as have fun.
