Wow! Both look very nice! As usual, though, too many projects already, not enough space or money, and one too many wives...

and I just ordered and received my D111 from Maxford. I guess for the 95.00 special I can rework it for while. Be nice if they came up with a knocked down version as most have motors and parts laying around. Red isn't my favorite color.

Both look really good. Maybe I missed it, but the second one doesn't seem to show how big it is?

From a HH guy at another site
Guys, The specs are an oversight on my part. I am working on entering them into the system now. FWIW, the span is 53", 755 squares total wing area, 44" fuse length, and around 5 1/2 lbs empty. It's been a lot of fun developing and I'm very happy with how the airplane has turned out. As far as the price tag, there is quite a bit done for you. This airplane can be in the air in around 5 hours, as there is NO gluing that is required. The tail feathers are attached at the factory, as well as being hinged with the scale hinges. The hinge point-type hinges for the ailerons are glued in as well. The most detailed portion of the build is installing the flying wires, if you choose to do so. It's much like building a car or a helicopter- everything simply bolts on. Coupled with the level of detail, the quality of the airplane, and the included spinner (which is not a shape that is offered by any of the manufacturers, and would be probably be north of $40 if you were to buy one separately if you could find one), I think most will find that this airplane is actually an exceptional value. I'll work on getting the specs up by the end of the day, since they have to go through the web team first |

Those dirty, rotten, no good, sons of guns......
Just when I thought I didn't need another WWI aircraft! Was thinking about getting the Alfa DVa, but might have changed my mind! The Red and White one looks awesome and I don't like red airplanes! Love the detail. Any $ yet Watt? Marty

Why oh why? Such tempting things to add to my already too large collection!!!
Waiting to see what is needed for the larger E-Flite version...motor? ESC? More pics please =) Of the two, I think the ParkZone foam version looks the best in overall scale appearance. But it is made of foam and has that alligator skin appearance. The E-Flite has some very nice details though. BUT, I think they really dropped the ball on the nose/spinner area. Just my opinion.... |

Why go through all the trouble of designing something and make it out of that kinda foam. I guess it's just the purist in me talking. The DVa and the DRI are two of my favorites German WWi fighters. Just twists my to see it. Oh well, at 50 mph you won't see the detail. ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW you can never have a big enough collection. After all, how many pairs of shoes do our wives have? ![]() ![]() I'll also bet they spend more on cosmetics, etc, every year than we do on our hobby! Boy oh Boy don't women have some sort of dumb rule about shoes and cosmetics are a taboo subject. Their reasoning being so they can look nice for us, they do it for us yadda yadda yadda..
and a mans basic rule with women..It is better to beg for forgivness than to beg for permission...go git that plane lol |

They both look reasonably good. Still can't stand the look of that basketball textured foam they use. If a cheapie FMS model can have a smooth skin why can't Horizon. That said they both look better in overall scale terms than the Se5a. Just my 2 cents. That said, I should add that if a deal presents itself I wouldn't pass on either of them.

Whoa. Mike for a second there I thought you were talking about wives,,smooth skin etc then I realized it was planes again..I tell mine at this stage in life, She is a keeper no matter how she looks. Hmmm maybe some of that make up could be used on the plane to weather it etc, better not go there,,

I would certainly have one in my "hangar". Must finish my 1/4 scale DIII Albi first.

Hi all,
I can see myself flying nothing but these WW1 birds now. Thank you PZ for not putting out a Tripe. Well, I am disappointed in the Eflight version as the downward angle just ruined the graceful line of the Albatross. I wish they would have done the Pflaz instead. DP |

Some pics from the WRAM Show. It actually looks pretty darn nice up close. I somebody had some skill at painting it'd turn this from nice to really something.

Greetings to all,
The foam PZ uses is pretty good and smooth except in some places where they bubble up. I think PZ should refine the manufacturing process to make sure the surface is even across. If other companies can produce such homogenous texture then why can't PZ being a powerhouse in R/C industry? Looking at the sample, I hope it will include an instrument panel rather than a black sticker as seen on the Se5a. In addition, they should include rigging as the wings flex quite a bit on the video, not to mention more scale like too. I hope their next offer won't be a tripe, camel but something more exotic like two seater observation or fighter bomber. DP |

I do not think either of these will be the slow flying WWI plane that can float in for a nice soft landing. I like the way my Wattage Camel flys and these planes weight from 2.5 times as much to over 5 times as much as my Camel. They both have larger wings but I do not believe the wings are that much larger for the weight of the plane.
|
||
|
Now for my last stunt, a forward flip on landing.

I am so glad that they are making BNF WW1 biplanes
![]() But you are correct that they are too heavy to fly "scale speeds " and be slow flyers like the 250 size planes are . Sure would be nice if they made about 40" WS slow flyers in lite weight . We can always hope that they will someday , or we can build some sticks and tissue lite weights ourselves till then No thank you , I like BNF models ![]() Perhaps someone can change the GWS TM400 into some WW1 biplanes , because the GWS TM400 is lite weight and can slow down in flight pretty well . Seeomg what you have done with the GWS Pico TM Don , have you ever tried anything with the 400 sized tiger moth ? And its been way to windy here for me to fly any of mine
