I'm trying to do a mix to throttle to be able to inhibit throttle advance until ready to fly my plane. I have tried to mix the elevator to the throttle and that has no effect. I am able to mix the elevator to the rudder, so it seems that I can manipulate the mix capability on the DX6i. So far no joy doing a throttle -> throttle mix to prevent having the motor run. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe use the throttle cut? Page 41 in the manual.

Sorry, I never used it so didn't totally understand how it functioned. So it only holds the throttle full down while the button is depressed? Good to know. If I learn anything more for this I'll let you know. I saw a guy at the field do something like this to a Dx7s, and saying to the guy he did it for that it's not in the manual... I'll ask him next time I catch him. Hopefully it might work with the 6i as well.

DX6i throttle Problem
I have a GWS Slow Stick which has been flying just fine controlled by a Spektrum DX6i xmittr. Today after a mild crash ( popped the wing bands, broke prop and broke vert stab) the throttle requires me to push 3/4 of way up before motor starts, then does not go to full RPM. Anyone have any ideas or where I might post to get an answer? Many thanks, I NEED to fly! |

I would be looking more at the motor than your radio. It would have had to have been a real bad crash to shake up your transmitter!
Maybe check the wires to the motor, check the motor for binding/bent shaft, etc. |

As stated, motor may be messed up.
My bet is the ESC. You forgot to turn off the throttle IMMEDIATELY at the crash and the stopped prop under power partly fried the ESC. Easiest way to check it a BRIEF check with a new ESC. |

If you're going to learn to fly them, you have to learn to fix them. |

Throttle prob. solved. Found other threads that suggested re-bind. I tried that and solved the prob. Many thanks for the replies and suggestions.
