Default What motor for 3D

Building an Aeroworks Yat 54 which calls for a 60-90 glow. It can be converted to elec and they recommend an E Flite 60/ 5000mah 5 cell thunderpower lipo. I suspect this will not let the airplane do 3D maneuvers. Plane has a 56 inch wing span and should come in around 7 lbs.
Thinking about installing an E Flight 90 with two 4 cells/5000mah.wired in series. increases the weight by 1/2-3/4 lbs.

Any suggestions

You want 1400-1500 watts or so for 3D performance. That means you want a motor in the 450 to 500 gram weight class of 300-500 KV. You may be able to run the plane on 6S but I'd consider an ESC that can handle 8S in case 6S produces too high a current draw.

If you are looking for all out 3D - there are better choices that weight a couple of pounds less. Check out the Slick from 3DHS. IIRC they come in at about 5lbs for that size.

For 3D weight is critical, if you go sticking a 500g lump on a motor in you will end up way overweight. I think 7lb is also way too much if you want a serious 3d model. The 57" 3DHobbyshop Extra for instance is listed as 4.5-5.5lb. That takes motors in the range 210-280g and a 5s battery 3700mAh max.

3D models use WOT in bursts so can push their motors a little harder than the norm.
