I've used up to 2280 3S in it and as the LiPo sits across the CoG point is not a problem. But the battery hatch although big always with the bigger LiPo's that lid is bent to close ........ seems they take battery dimensions but forget the leads ! Well there is an answer .......... Hobby Kings Zippy Compacts ............ I bought a couple of 1800 3S 25C Compacts - brilliant. I have actually spare space in there now. I have no commercial connection with HK other than being a buyer. The weight is same as my other 1800's ......... but the change in dimensions is a real advantage. Just thought I'd pass this on to other SKy 182 owners .............. |

The Zippy Compact Lipo's update after use for a while ..........
Had a couple of strange happenings couple of times even though having charged up prior to arrival at flight site - had very short flight before battery died .... Checked on Wattmeter once landed and found LiPo very low charge..... one in fact was near zero. Charged them up and no problem. This happened twice .. first a 3S pack and then on my EDF a 4S pack ... so was not a 'forget to charge - mixed up LiPo' event. I now do a quick Wattmeter check before installing in plane ... never seen it again. General performance ? Very happy. |
