Default Can i convert a hitec optic 6 35mhz to 2.4ghz

I have seen a hitec optic 6 35mhz transmitter on ebay for £35. I seem to remember reading on the internet somewhere that you can fit these with a 2.4ghz module. Has anyone got any knowledge?

Thanks

Check exactly what's on offer.
The Hitec Optic 6 uses RF modules and so can easily be converted.

The Hitec Optic 6 SPORT is not modular and so you can't just plug in a new RF module.

I have an Optic 6, which is using the new Spectra 2.4 module, and love it: if you have a Sport, you are sol.

My pal here uses a Hitec 6 with FrSky 2.4 module plugged in back instead of the factory module.
As others say - check that it's not the Sport version.

That looks like the real one not the Sport, but since it's from Al's Hobbies just contact them and ask.

BTW the Hitec 2.4GHz module and one RX will cost cost you about another £80 and you'll also need a Tx battery. And additional Hitec 2.4GHz RXs aren't cheap.

Why do you think my mate changed to FrSky module / Rx's ? Less than half cost for Rx's .. Module etc.

Thats the ones i've seen on Giant cod. £8 for the module and £12 for each rx. Thats a fraction of the cost.

Just waiting for them to come back in stock.

Did you buy the Optic 6? I see the e-bay listing is no longer there.

FYI, the Hitec RF module is pretty resonably priced and the receivers are not bad in price, especially compared to Spektrum or Futaba.

However the FrSky system is getting great reports and costs less than the others. Don't confuse FrSky with FlySky. Two different systems.

Hi All
just a little info about the Hitec Optic 6 Sport txs. While it does not have the ability to be converted over to 2.4Ghz just by plugging in a module it is very easy to convert it over by using a Assan Hack module like this one. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...PPM_Only_.html.
There is a little bit of info on the net but if anyone wants info about how to do send me a email.
Since converting mine over from 36Mhz I have had no problems at all with the signal failures that plagued me before the conversion.
Cheers
Con

Yeah got mine from Als hobbies in the Uk. The FrSky module looks simple to use. It'll do me for what i want it for.
