sig Aqua-Star electric conversion question

Hi,
I just purchased a Sig Aqua-Star sea plane.
It has a wingspan of 40"
and has recommended engines size of: .049 to .060
Finished weight will be approx 30oz or less.

I want to make this an electric sea plane.
I have not done anything with electrics yet so I am a little in the dark about sizing electric motors.
I would appriciate it if someone could give me some information about what size electric motors would be equvilant to the .049 to .060 for this plane.

That's a very nice looking plane.
Have you flown it off water?
Can you give me information the power plane
What motor, esc, and battery combo are you using?
What is the prop size?
Do you know what the finished weight is?

Here is all you need to get her flying. I built mine when all of my flying was off water. But I retired and moved before I covered it. I have not flown it off water. The wheels in the photos worked but it flies off grass beautifully with No wheels. Let me know if you need any build details or photos and I will try to help. The plane has been flying for some 7 years.

Henry your Herr looks great.

Henry what size battery are you using? I have one framed up and it's been sitting for the last few months kinda in limbo right now. From the looks of your battery hatch I had the same idea of doing the same with that big hunk of balsa.
Picked my Herr kit up for 20 dollars at a auction had the plans with it, but no step by step instructions would of liked them at the time I was putting it together. Glad this is a pretty straight forward build.
Mine is going to be done up with pink and white covering with some hello kittie stickers for the granddaughter. Her plane and I will be the pilot.

Sounds good Gramps. It flys really well and take offs and landings on grass is a real joy. I use a 3 cell 2200 35c battery from Heads up.

Thanks Henry that's a battery I have plenty of seems like a popular size battery for many planes. Just need to get back at this plane not like me to not finish off one when I am so close.
