Default 35mhz Aerial wire placement on heli?

Sorry to ask a dumb question but where should I run the aerial wire on heli
when using 35mhz rx and should I shorten it or wrap it?

Wire is about 30 inches at the moment.

Can you get a base-loaded antenna (like a Deans) in the UK? If so, that's the best option. Otherwise you can run the antenna back to near the bottom of the tail fin. I'd suggest using a rubber band to connect it at the tail fin so the wire doesn't get stressed from the boom flexing (make sure to keep the rubber band fresh, especially if you fly inverted!)

Thanks, I will look into the Deans. In the mean time I am guessing I would simply fold back the aerial wire to suit the tail boom length (the heli is a 450).

Or maybe its safe to cut it back abit as I wouldnt need the same range?

Not going to look pretty this longer wire (I could always black it over with a permanent marker?) but needs must until I can justify another 2,4ghz set.
