Not so long ago, you could find these everywhere for $6.00...even Turnegy had them for about $9.00...... Any suggestions are welcome......I have size limitations, thus 1300mah is about the max. and I would rather not switch from the JST connector and go bananna or deans since everything I have in place now fits perfect and looks clean. Thanks in advance guys! |

How about this one?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16774 Available in the US warehouse for $5.89 a piece. It's 1300mAh, but that's a much more "standard" capacity than 1200mAh. [EDIT: Aaaah... You needed JST connector? Ok, then it may not work. How about changing the connector on your plane so it can accept the vast number of cheap, good batteries that are out there?] |

Or make a 1/4" long adapter.

Thanks Swede & Hayofstacks.........
Found a couple of places that have reasonable 1300mah 20c, 7.4v..not HK..guess I'll just make a JST to Bananna adapter, that way I won't need to modify my ESC again and still be able to balance charge without making another jig for that too. Just don't like the wire gages being so different...looks tacky! |

I really like deans connectors. We have also ran some of the blue e-flight connectors(ec3?) And have used some others. Since converting to deans all around though, it makes swapping batteries and connectors a thing of the past. There are also "micro" deans that might work well for you. A small jst to deans connector might go a long way though.
My grandpa used both deans and jst plugs for charging jacks for some of his old electric stuff. I have brought a couple of batteries back with an old 12v charger with a jst plug. I plug my battery checker into the ballance port, then a deans to jst adaptar into the battery and wait for the cells to all get over 3v's, then I can usually get it to ballance after that. Jst plugs are also used a lot for ubec's and old AA battery boxes. |

Dean's have been around forever....no secret there......I have them on everything that requires a 3cell or larger battey. Not really needed for the 7.4v application and you won't find them on many 7.4v batteries either...if at all. The ESC's I'm using for this application are not Dean's connected so I'll just modify as stated previously.
When Dean's manufactures made a fuss about copyright issues a little over a year ago, almost all battery manufactures that did not have rights to the Dean T type connector were forced to use other types of fittings....most just sold their batteries without any connectors to avoid the hassle. Dean's lost some popularity that's why we now see such an assortment of different type of connectors being used ...besides, Deans have never been that user friendly to solder or to connect/disconnect....but are always reliable and some what spark proof. I'll leave it at that and get to soldering.....thanks! |
