Default Christen Eagle II 90 (ARF)

This is the HorizonHobby ARF. (made in Vietnam and it kinda shows. - See this thread update by me for details) I'll try not to go into more details in this thread about the quality of the ARF, but rather on the modifications/conversion process.
Although it is been released as either a .90 engine or 90 elec.motor ARF.
I am planning it with a Tacon (BigFoot) 110.

Here are some picture of the BigFoot I am going to install in this, with the 100A-HV ESC.

Weight:
Tacon (BigFoot) 110: 638g or 1lb 6.5oz
FunFly 100A-HV ESC: 132g or 4.6oz

more pictures later

Better check your firewall and see if it was built with up thrust in it ! I found mine had a lot of up in it . I added a washer to the top to shim it down and this made the thrust line zero .
Mine had a tendency to climb and when inverted would dive . So please check it out !

Cool Eagle

Got another flight in today ,just one . Cheep ,Cheep hardware! The blind nut that holds the battery tray in place cross threaded and it took a while to get it out. When I got home I replaced it with American , top notch screws and nuts!
I learned that the rudder in sensitive and that I think a three axis gyro would tame down the wing waggle and tail waggle.
Taking out the up thrust also I think helped the flying especially inverted. The more I fly it the more I'm going to like it .

Cool Eagle

The flight today had all the angles set to zero.the fuselage was set to level along the canopy rail, the horizontal stab was zero, the motor thrust line is near zero and the top wing was set to zero to half a degree washout ( leading edge down), well it was more zero also..I added a washer to the wing struts at the aft upper position and now it seems more like a normal aircraft!
I really like the way it's flying now ! More like what a biplane should fly like. I have made duct work to move cooling air thru the fuselage to keep the ESC and batteries cool . The motor stays cool and has plenty of power to pull it thru the vertical and keep going .Yep I'm really liking thi plane!
