Default Super Cub manual adjustment of rudder?

Ok so the SC is assembled, and functioning. I held off on the maiden flight due to wind. However, I have a question about trimming the rudder. The plane was rtf. I wasn't sure if rebinding might tweak the servos, but after trying that, it all remained unchanged. I have the rudder trim hard left and I can see it is just a smidgen out from being perfectly aligned. Is there a trick to manually adjust the rudder so I can centre up my trim slider and have some more play?

Thanks!!

Well If I understand your question. How I set up my trims before maiden flight.
1) disconect battery and ensure TX is off
2) remove screw going to servo horn at servo
3) remove horn from servo
4) remove prop for safety
5)Turn TX on centering trim button
6) conect battery alowing servos to center
7) reconect horn to servo ensuring that rudder is centered. This may require you to unscrew the control arm to ensure that the rod is not to long or to short.

Hope that helps and I did not miss a step

Happy flying may your crashes be limited and if they are not limited let them be cool.

No problem took me long time to figure that out. Did I mention I am bit slowwww. Dont know why but it took me 3 flights and the same question here on wattflyer to figure it out probaly should of asked before flying. Glad you did could have been very messy.

I discovered an even simpler way as I was reading this again lol.

I released the clevis on the control arm and just gave it a twist. The silly thing is threaded onto the pushrod!

Seems to be better but if not I will take your advice. Thanks again!

The clevis is indeed threaded. That is common and the proper way to adjust a cub.
It should be bound, powered up, and trims in neutral.

If you're going to learn to fly them, you have to learn to fix them.

Piano,

+1 on the mechanical adjustment. Always get your control surfaces aligned mechanically the best you can. Then trim later with the TX . As far as binding? Once you've bound an rx to your Tx , you're bound. Servos, esc and motor have nothing to do with binding.

Good luck on the SC ! First of many !

Talking

Ahh a couple of rules to keep your soon to be addiction in check
1. You must eat (gotta have substance to fly)
2. You must drink water (gotta be hydrated to fly)
3. You must work (gotta have money to buy planes)

Haha I got it covered. I'm happy to see sleep didn't make the cut.

Also, sometimes a frosty beer helps, too.

Yes, indeed! But, apparently coffee is somewhat questionable. If you drink French Vanilla coffee with French Vanilla creamer, you may want to rethink flying anything fast (and you may be in the Air Force ). I guess the Cub doesn't count...

All of my landings are three point landings if you count the spinner, too

Hehe, up here I always start my work day with sme Tim Hortons coffee. I have limited myself to a few a day. When I get into the EDF's I will cut back to just two cups.

I'm currently at work, somewhat sleep deprived, and on cup number 5. I believe I can meet these requirements before my work day is complete.
