Default Hobby King Giant super Cub info wanted

I'm thinking about grabbing one of these. Does anyone have any info or tips. Price is good but you need just about everything as it only comes with bare minimum and a lousy manual. Plane looks good however and is large abd requires a 60 size motor, I'm tempted.

Some people hang pictures in their homes, I hang guitars in mine. I guess I can hang a few planes in the garage too!

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I asked about it elsewhere, but didn't get any feedback on it. It seems to be a slow but steady seller though (from my limited watching the stock). My main concern was that it uses EPS rather than EPO foam which tends to cope with mishaps a little better from what I understand.

FWIW, I'm now thinking of going with this J3 cub instead when the time comes.

After looking at both those I would pay the few extra bucks the second one. It is, by far, a better looking model than the first one.

If you don't have any of the required hardware on hand then the first will be about as expensive as the second anyway.

Here's my problem with these planes. I was looking at the 80" Super cub from HK. It was on sale for $118. I added it to my cart and saw shipping from HK was only $27 usps priority air. When I got to final checkout the shipping had jumped up to $70. making the purchase around $190. So I looked at the USA whse, price of kit was now $158 and shipping from the usa whse was over $60. I know priices have gone up every where but I'm done doing business with these guys. Seems every thread I read about a kit or plane coming from HK has problems of some sort. Cheap clevis, bad horns, ESC's that burn up and motors that have problems. Crushed foam parts, some are broken, missing parts. I know this can happen anywhere but when it happens and your 6000 miles away it realy gets nasty quick. Hey I don't claim to have any answers, just my little rant here and I've now tossed in my $.02. Happy flying guys and gals.

I agree Bluz, I know they have some great prices and all but when you get into the big box stuff it can get really expensive.

I prefer using companies like Atlanta Hobby and Horizon. Yeah they are more expensive but in this hobby as with most things you sure do get what you pay for. And the Customer service is much better with folks that you can call and talk to and understand even.
