Electrics over Tidewater 22-23 September 2012

It's almost that time of year again!

22-23 September is the date for the 7th annual "Electrics over Tidewater" or "EOT" as we like to more affectionately call it. Come join us join us for our 7th annual event at the beautiful Newport News Park R/C Club Night flying til the cows come home on the the night of the 22nd.

This is a low key fun fly with maybe an event or two thrown in, depends on what mood everyone is in... But of course we will have our combat! This year we will once again be doing the infamous figure 8 pylon racing combat. We have had some pretty good sessions in prior years, heck one year we had a Klingon Battle Cruiser loose it bridge to a Federation Starship, or was that a Zagi?? Oh well it's fun what ever it was.

If it's electric and it flies bring it! All types of aircraft are welcome. Heli's welcome!

AMA membership is required as this is a sanctioned event.

Landing fee for one/or both days is only $15. Lunch will be provided on Saturday and once again we will have the Langley Fire Departments famous "Raptor Afterburner Chili"! (it's not really that hot, but it's ohhh so tasty!) My wife really puts a lot of time into this endeavor so when you see her dishing it out give her a great big thank you!

Once again Nico Hobbies is happy to support this event. I will be sending you a few kits for the raffle tonight. One will be the ever popular F-22, and the other will be the newest in the lineup, which is the Su-30MK. This one flies almost the same as the F-22, which is the best flyer of the bunch.

Wish I was over on the right coast. If I was, I would attend the event. Maybe one year I can find my way over there and ship you a plane or two for me to fly. I need to get back to that area anyway so I can go visit Udvar-Hazy. (I was in DC for the 4th, and did the Air & Space, but want to go see UH too)

We're getting close! Where has the summer gone? The days are getting shorter, cool crisp fall nights, football in full swing, all this can can only mean EOT is right around the corner... and it is! just over a week to go now.

The sponsors are rolling in and even in this tough economy we are getting a lot of support from some tried and true vendors. Getting very close now and the excitement is building! Weather looks to be very nice, at least for Saturday, a small chance of storms on Sunday but that has never stopped us before! Raffle prizes are all in and we have about $2500 worth of goodies to give out. Lot's of folks coming so there will be plenty of really cool aircraft to check out from Micro's to 1/4 scale and above and from slow park flyers to 150 mph wings. There is sure to be something there for everyone! Look forward to seeing all of you for another great EOT!
