I am looking for a plane around the 90 size and I know that these might go even to 120 and I know these are different planes but was wandering if anyone has experience with these planes - any bad tendencies or something I should be worried about http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...gsReviews=true http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...-91-arf-SEA143 - Plan to use Electric power Thank you |

I am building the Shoestring now. Hope to have it up after the holidays. Still need to get my motor. All I have left is to install the power plant and apply the decals. The well kind of ran dry on the money for now, at least til after Christmas, maybe Santa will bring me the motor I want.Looking at Scorpion similar to what I had in my old Great Planes Shoestring.
If you have any experience with that one this one looks to be much better built. There was no way to get to the fuse to batteries in the GP version so the wing had to be removed every time. This one has a nice hatch and two piece wing. It sure is a pretty plane. The lines look more scale that the GP version too. |

Which Scorpion motor are you considering - will it be a better motor than Eflite for example?
Higher KV, Power... ?? |

I had the Scorpion S 4020-10, 630kv in my last GP model. It would fly consistent 126mph passes on 8s 4000mah Hobby City generic batts with an APC 10x10 I think. (not completely certain on that prop size). I like the Scorpion motors better than the E-flite stuff. They provide a better range of capabilities.
I will probably go with the same setup or something similar. The first motor I tried was a Welgard from Grayson hobby and it was good but nowhere near as fast as with that Scorpion on it. |
