Given the time of the year and political cycle, the streets are full of signs for every one hoping to get elected. Here's the deal, design and fly, a plane built with the plastic core-board political signs, then post a picture of it. Any type of plane, but it has to be able to fly. Some of these may rise to great heights, like some politicians, while some may crash and burn, again like some politicians. I am not sure that I will be able to find the time to do my own idea, but I hope some others can. |

One of my poker buddies is running for office right now. I've got one of his signs in my yard.

"Some of these may rise to great heights, like some politicians, while some may crash and burn, again like some politicians."
Not a political but an actor/writer, we once had a Paul Masson wine ad with Orson Wells glued around an F engine powered model rocket, as kids. Those engines will take a 3" diameter tube to great heights, and then continue to burn while transitioning to horizontal flight for much longer than a few seconds until out of sight. Assuming the parachute worked, someone probably found it intact and wondered why Orson was on the rocket.

I'm so fed up with the lying, backstabbing, stupidity, misleading journalism, political propaganda passed off as news and other shenanigans in this campaign that I'm way too fed up with it to devote any time to honoring any of the candidates with a plane. Sorry...

Why not take two opposing canidate's signs (or more) and build a couple of bashers/combat models and fly them against each other. Then you vote for the winner
![]() Here's some ideas, http://www.google.com/search?num=20&....1.aZowcTHOqAE BTW, I have a 6' ws Ugly Stick style S.P.A.D. that is downright heavy ![]() It was given to me to electrify. He had a gas eng. on it so maybe I can do something with it after I get caught up with all my builds & projects ![]() Standing By, SJ |

I might be able to do something like a pizza box plane.
If all the legal BS I have to do doesn't take too long. NJSwede, I don't know what Bill is referring to, but that is a nice plane, no matter what site name is on it. |

I know that this is an electric power only site, but as the idea is to use political ads/signs I think it would be appropriate if the craft were powered by hot air.

I built a case for my EZ* out of a large political sign, one for a candidate I definitely did not want to win, so there were no bad feelings about appropriating it before the election was over.
![]() I would think with all the hot air that goes into a political campaign that anything made from the signs should have absolutely no problem getting airborn ![]() Posted via Mobile Device |

Do you plan to fund these models by scrounging lots of money off people you don't really give a hoot about, or by having dinners and the like for Very Self Important People?
Sorry... ![]() D |

Looks great! Can you tell it to stop being a baby and getting us a deficit reduction deal before the new year? I don't really care about the details, just get something done.
Ok?

That is great!!
I guess we can't touch the signs until after the person has been defeated or the final election is over, then they are trash, before those times it is against some law. I figure they will sign something late this evening, if they do , it will be funny as I told my wife, 3 months ago the politicians wouldn't sign until the last moment. |
