Default This is Fun

After days of painstaking research I have developed the Chick-Fil-A jet. This started out as a front engine prop plane but didn't do well so I bashed it to a pusher prop. After a lot of fun with it I decided to do something different so I mounted 2 64mm EDFs to it. By the way, the wing mounts for the EDFs are made from packing foam from my Stinger 64. I added a rudder with pull pull and reinforced the wings. I also expanded the battery bay since it will draw nearly 800 watts. I don't know what this thing will do but it should be a lot of fun finding out.

Those Chik Filet Nacelles are awesome! Very industrious and clever.

'Looking forward to reading about the maiden flight.

Yes it is, I got it at Wallmart. Here is a couple of pictures of it in it's first life. It only had ailerons and elevator and no wing stiffeners. Also you can see where the nose was sawed off and glued back on. I first tried it with a front mounted motor. It flew fine but landing was a problem.

Oddly enough I have not seen these anywhere since last year, it's like they just disapeared.

It's amazing what folks have done with those cheap gliders. I've seen a few very successful planes created, and plenty of not so successful.

I like what you've done with the Chick-fil-A cups!

BTW, those gliders are still everywhere here at our Wal-Marts.

Well I can tell you from my first couple of builds that the CG is about 70 to 75mm back from the leading edge where it intersects the fuselage.

Does flying a Chick-fil-A jet say something about one's support for 'traditional marriage?'

Well now I finally know what the "A" in Chick-fil-A stands for. AIRLINES!

Thanks for that!

OK so the CG was wayyyy off. I am swapping the battery and electronics to see it it helps cause it can only crash if I'm wrong.

Here is the maiden test flight.

Thank you, I hope the next few flights go better. At least now we know that it conks out in exactly 3 minutes so at 2 minutes start looking for a place to land.
