Default Any tips on this charger set-up ?

I have just set up this system:

Turnigy 120v to dc 12-18v--1070 watt--60 amp power supply for a Hitec x2-400 2 channel charger. I purchased 2 RC Progressive parallel boards for multiple battery charging. Im still waiting for the power supply to arrive.

Anybody out there using a similar set-up ?

Are the printed circuit Copper strips rated to carry the 10 amps if you are doing 1 C charge on all of them ?
If you exceed the copper tracks amperage they will fail.

If you can touch the tracks after about 5 minutes without pain you are fine.

X2-400 is great.

I use a different power supply that is not as powerful as what the Turnigy claims.

But if you are going to be doing a lot of smaller batteries instead of the big ones the X2 can handle... you may be better off with a few lower power chargers.
When charging using the parallel board you don't add packs mid-charge. So you could end up waiting for one set to finish in order to put the next pack(s) on to charge.
It can be slower using the X2-400 than a pair of X4 4-port 50 watt/port chargers if doing a lot of 3S 2000 mah packs.

When its all said and done... you are best off with one port per pack.

With my assorted aircraft and packs I have an X2-400, a X4, 3 Turnigy 420's (cool little beasts), a Hobbico MK-II, an Astro 109 and an assortment of OEM chargers that came with package deals

I have been known to have them ALL running at once at the field. And mean it...

The boards I'm using are rated at 30 amps. I 'm charging the 5k lipos 4 of them the charger cooling fans come on for only about the last 20 mins of the process. The power supply usually gets a little warm!7
