My Ex-wife the pilot
My ex-wife started taking flying lessons about the time our divorce started and she got her license shortly before our divorce was final, later that same year. Yesterday afternoon, she narrowly escaped injury in the aircraft she was piloting when she was forced to make an emergency landing in Southern Tennessee because of bad weather. Thank God our kids were with me this weekend. The NTSB issued a preliminary report, citing pilot error: Judy was flying a single engine aircraft in IFR (instrument flight rating) conditions while only having obtained a VFR (visual flight rating) rating. The absence of a post-crash fire was likely due to insufficient fuel on board. No one on the ground was injured. The photograph below was taken at the scene and shows the extent of damage to her aircraft. She was very lucky. I don't care who you are, this is funny!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! |

Thanks everyone
My ex at one time was wanting to take flying lessons so I asked one of the flight instructors where I worked to take her for a B'day 1st flight. He & I had joked around about what alltitude to let her out at, if the life ins. on her was paid up & if we should give her a old used parachute or an un-tried new one. So they are about half way thru the 30 min. flight & Dan asked her if she was ready to get some "hands on experience". Just as she takes the yoke in hand her door pops open   I don't think she ever did believe that we somehow didn't cause that door to open. Poor Dan claimed his arm was bruised for a week from where she grabbed him hanging on till they landed. As far as I know she still hasn't gotten back into a private aircraft in the past 30 years Standing By, SJ |
