I have the harbor cub and after a year I just got a brushless combo. My ? is how do you know what the pitch of the motor should be and how do you check the angle of the motor? I have it mounted but am not sure it's right and I don't want to just try a test flight to see if the plane will fly. At this point is angled slightly down & to the right.
As you say - you have slight down and slight right .... that's fine.
The Cub is not a precision aerobatics machine and so fine tuning of thrust line is not really needed. You may if you are upgrading from Brushed to Brushless find she climbs a little more and needs a slight trim down to counter ... due to the extra power.
Thank you! I played around with it on the ground it took a good bit of left rudder too keep it stright. I got the nerve up to try and fly the plane and it flew great. It had so much more power than the 380 brushed motor. It would stay in the air with less than 1/2 throttle before you had to keep it 3/4 to full throttle. We had winds that would keep it grounded before I almost backed out of flying but I wanted to try out the new setup and it handled the wind.
