I have a brand new ready to fly Super Cub Electric. I haven't even dared to take it out of the house yet. |

Best money I've spent on RC was a RealFlight G5 for $120 on FeeBay. Without a doubt it has saved me a lot of money in crashed planes LOL.
Here is a video I saved on my PC with the RealFlight G5.5 practicing on the E-Flite Apprentice 15e

Thanks for the reply DCdetector. I have heard of the realflight simulator. I have also heard of the Phoenix. Which do you think is better and why? I have found the Phoenix to be a little less expensive.

I've had the opportunity to try them both, side by side, at my LHS. I really liked RealFlight better. While no simulator is perfect, RF really felt more real. (No pun intended!) And mind you, I've been using flight sims since I was in high school, so that means Microsoft Flight Simulator version 1.0! They were full scale sims, but that's how I learned flying until I purchased RFv3.5 about 6 or 7 years ago.
I wound up loaning it to a buddy who lost his job since, and.. well, long story short, I'm looking to get another sim. I was thinking about Phoenix, too. I liked that you could use your own tx. But having tried them both several times at the LHS, and having the fact that you can also use your own tx with RF pointed out to me, I have to stick with RF. It may cost a little more, but I'd rather pay it for something I like, than save a couple of dollars and regret it every time I use it. And if you're still learning to fly, either one will save you money! If money's an issue, you could start with RF Basic. (or whatever it's called) Of course there are other way cheaper, even free sims out there, but then they don't have as much flexibility and doo-dads in those programs. |
