ESC's & multi-rotors

I'm guessing a already know (or think I do) the answer to my question. Do all the esc's in a multi rotor design have to be identical?

I'm going to start off with a tri-copter. I have 3 identical motors but only two identical esc's. All are the same current capacity(30amp) Two from one vendor, third from someone else. Might all be the same under the heat shrink.

I've ordered 3 new esc's anyway just in case. Just wondering.

Not necessarily as long as your Throttle Calibration are the same. BUT, the keep it Simple, it would be best to have all the ESCs the same.

I would put the odd ball on the tail as it will be running at a different rate anyways due to the servo weight and angle of incidence of the prop to counter the yaw motion.

i would keep them all the same.
