So I figured I would just get the Micro P51 since it is on sale. I would rather risk crashing that than the much more expensive Trojan. Plus there is a large field right behind my house, however it is really too rough to use for take off and landing. This is where I fly the Champ. The Trojan I can go to the park or the local club field, which has been dead because of the cold weather. Instead of the P51, I ordered a P40. Partly because I just like that aircraft a lot better, and partly because of the AS3X it comes with. I will set my dual rates lower on my DX6i and be gentle with the sticks. I know I am playing with fire here but I really want to learn ailerons. My schedule and the weather does not always bode well with training day at the club. And as I said before, I'd rather risk a lower cost airplane than my nice park zone Trojan. I know this is not a good aircraft choice, but If I never have faith in myself I will never succeed. All this being said, is this a pretty good aircraft? I know it is a bit underpowered but is there anything else I should know? At least I know for sure there are spare parts available and great Horizon customer service. |

It is not my favorite of the UM's. Don't know how to describe it just a bit more attention needed while flying it. It is a bit underpowered IMHO. Some are reporting the motor mount is quite delicate as well.
But...it sure looks nice. ![]() Mike |

Can't be worse than the Champ in a breeze lol. So keep the power up and keep tricks to a minimum? I just couldn't pass up this looks and the AS3X. The P51 looks rather bland to me, just like the real one.
Well I am good at rebuilding things and the parts are cheap so I guess that is a plus lol. |
