Here is my 1st Heli. The Trex 450 SE is running the stock 430L motor and Align 35 AMP ESC. I"m running a JR 500T Gyro that I got with the kit and I'm running HS 65's on the head and a HS-81 on the tail. All this is powered by a 25C 2250 3s pack. I have only flown it a handful of times. It is a great preformer, lots of power. I'm looking forward to crashing it sometime in the future, LOL!! The winds have been high almost everyday for weeks!! Can't wait for some calm summer days.

Here's the latest addition to my fleet. Hiding inside the 500 body is a Lama IV heli frame. The wind finally died about 8pm last evening and I flew 4 packs through it... very stable, and I just love this body. No decals yet, but it will probably end up being the TV news heli for WKRAP.....

My old beater Lite Machines LMH 100 modified to electric. Still works good after 12 yrs of hard use. Canopy is from a Hurricane 550. Don't laugh at the boots. This was taken last winter indoors when the snow was up to my knickers.

Yeah, I put that on for the same reason. 3 mm depron held on with scotch tape. Not pretty but it serves the purpose. I have it on the other helis too.

Hey, Jasmine! I had no idea you flew heli's from our previous discussions on "that other place". Cool! I've become a chronic. I haven't flown fixed wing for months! I also have two rather large gyro copters to get in the air.
Good to see you on wattflyer! Buzz |

I just didn't think I'd ever be able to do 3D or fly a CP helicopter at all, but I practiced a whole lot on Realflight, got a CP Pro and bashed around with that for a while - now I'm back to basics with the "RADD" method and I'm enjoying it. It just takes a while to wrap your brain around the helicopter thing. And I've heard heli pilots say things like "how can you fly those planes, they always keep moving forward!" - It's just a new challenge for me and that's a major reason for being in the hobby in the first place - to challenge the mind. If it ever becomes easy... well let's hope it never comes to that ![]() If anyone is interested, what I did there was to scan the TRex decal sheet into my computer, replace some of the colors with Paint Shop Pro, and then print it on an Avery clear label sheet. I can send the template to anyone who wants it, just PM me. |

I haven't flown fixed wing since! You're right.... it's the challenge that draws me to it also. And it won't get easier! Every time I think I've mastered it.... I crash and come back to reality. Nice job on the canopy cover. Well, just thought I'd say hello. Been a while since I've seen you. Best, Buzz

Hey that's cool! Where did you get the custom canopy? It's a Blade 400, right?
I just picked up one to practice with before I risk my beloved Trex on tricky moves... |

Yes, that is actually an Align fiberglass canopy
![]() I have... Align canopy Align 35A ESC 450SE v2 aluminum tail grips/steel hub/450 blades 325mm align pro wood mains Align 3K carbon stabs I have an aluminum tail case and all aluminum head coming. The stock tail hub is pretty weak aluminum even a minor strike can send it off into the trash bin. Swap for the v2 tail and you wont have that problem, the rex tail is also more responsive and has a faster piro rate. You will note that the e-flite parts are very weak, most of us have swapped out for align or similar parts. If you want a bullet proof blade, go CNC tail/head, MG servos on cyclic, and KEEP WOOD MAINS. Carbon mains will bend the crap out of a CNC head. Anywho have fun with your blade, once they are setup correctly they are a blast and a very good platform to practice 3D on. It is my basher until my 500CF is complete. I love my blade though hehe. We call em B-Rex's. |

jasmine the stock t-rex canopy will fit the blade 400. i had to trim little V's out to keep the cyclic and pitch servos out of a bind. but you cant tell from a distance.
