Welcome. Best of luck with the Mustang.

Are you new to RC? Or just to electric?

Default not new to R/C.. just flying

Hiya,
In answer to your question, I am not new to R/C, as i have a Storm 3d helicopter, 2 R/C buggies, both good for 100 mph plus, and a warship (1:200 Yamato), and my favorite is my deep "v" boat, which is good for 53 mph (if it doesnt throw any more props and shafts )This Mustang will be test flown by my Brother in law, who is also an instructor, so i am in pretty good hands as long as beer doesnt get involved!

R/C plane instructor?
Will you be buddyboxing?
Just remember to use slight stick movements and low rates.
Good luck!

A Mustang is not exactly a trainer, so take things slow and easy. Buddy-boxing is a good idea.

Default Mustang derring-do!

Hiya!
We will be buddy boxing after my bro in law finishes test flying and trimming, but we do have a dummy transmtter hoooked up to my pc via usb so that I can get an idea of controlsand handling. I have a Futaba transmitter for the Mustang not sure of the model nut it cost me a lot, my bro in law recommended it so we will see what happens when its time to go electric aviating!
Cheers all!

Actually as a proficient Heli pilot - I don't think you will have too much trouble. Most of my friends who started on Heli's (much more difficult than planes) have about ZERO issue transitioning to planes as they have the "feel" of flying down.

I suspect with your brother in laws help you will be at the sticks in short order without much issue.

Default Thanks for the reply

Hiya, it is an impressive bit of kit ( i reclon so anyway!), we have everything workin on it, but an annoying vibration which we have traced to the prop/nut adaptor that screws onto the front of the electric motor, so it is now off, and we will true it up in a lathe, (roll it straight), as for the plane, the only weak link in it that we can see will be the landing gear, but a bit of ingenuity and we will make up a new, stronger set.
regards
Rod Wright
