How to repair the canopy?

What have others done to repair the thin plastic canopies like on the Blade CP?

I would think super glue would crack fairly quickly. What about hot glue?

You can try putting clear tape on the inside and then dab a little super glue on the cracks on the outside. They are very fragile. I usually repair them by pulling out my wallet.
The hot Glue does sound like a decent idea, just keep it away from the motor! Batteries get warm too, but I usually cant keep mine in the air long enough for that to happen...

try 5 min Epoxy, it works great, you just need to use a little, Take care, Chellie

I use very light weight fiberglass cloth. Cut a piece that covers the crack, and place it on the inside of the canopy. Then dab a little thin CA over the cloth. Swab off the excess with a paper towel (keep your eyes and nose away). You can hit it with accelerator if you want.

Light, works good, strong.

I just tried the CA glue method on my Airfield (FMS) Trojan T28 canopy and it worked great! I did not use the paper backing and have not put it to the test, but it looks really good. I did tape it from the inside and glue it from the outside, but next time I would tape it on the outside and glue it on the inside.

I will continue to use this method for future canopy repairs.

If you can find it Shoe Goo does excellent. I cut a piece of the sheetrock tape (the kind that looks like screen wire) cover the crack and lightly coat it with Shoe Goo. I repair and reinforce my offroad rc cars this way and they take an awful beating. If you check on replacement you'll probably find out a new canopy cost less than the materials to repair it with unless you already have them. New canopies usually are anywhere from 4 to $10.

I would have replaced the canopy if I could get just the canopy. For the Airfield (FMS) Trojan T28, I could only find it with the foam cockpit and pilot. I'm not to the point yet where I want to get all of that too.

only way is to solder the wires off to get the motors out.
