Well the weather was great today so i figured id have another try. There was a slight breeze, but nowhere near windy like it has been. Even though it is a micro, i tried to takeoff from very short grass. This did not work as she just nosed over. I put it at 2/4 throttle and tried a hand launch. I guess i did not have enough momentum because she went down with a skid into the grass. But i was determined to try again. Another hand launch, this time full throttle and I actually threw the Warhawk at an upward angle. My first flight was underway! I did not try any tricks, just did some laps through the field. I did manage 2 full rolls, my first ever with an RC plane. The P40 did not want to loop, and actually seemed a little slower then my Champ. It does turn tighter though. I flew for 3 to 4 minutes and landed in the grass before my battery had the chance to die. the only adjustments I had in my DX6i was dual rates at 70 for all control surfaces. This plane did not seem twitchy to me at all. She is not fast or agile, but now that I got a flight in, i love this plane lol. She also did not seem bothered by the slight breeze, unlike the Champ I flew moments before. Just wanted to tell you guys about my first 4 channel flight! It was a great confidence booster. This hobby can be very fun with a little patience. |

Thanks! Yes I was actually able to fly in a breeze! lol. It seemed to help not only with the breeze, but to help with general flight also. It was rather smooth. Had some trouble seeing her against the trees though.
But then the wind really started to pick up so I brought her down for the day. I got 3 flights in. I was using Turnigy 160Mah batteries. They were very cheap but I have been impressed with them. Cannot wait to take this plane out again! Hopefully tomorrow weather permitting. |

Thanks a lot guys! Flew her in some moderate wind and had some hard crash/landings. Bent the wingtips a bit, and one of the .50 cals broke off lol. But nothing that cannot be fixed!
