This is a Plans Build. Background, I love to build and fix things. It is time to build. Being relatively new at the Flying thing, I know that I need a low weight, high wing plane like the Piper Cub. I wanted something a little more unusual, and military if possible. The Storch seemed like the perfect fit.... The Specs from the plans... Lots and Lots of parts to cut out.... My modeling home for the next few days... ![]() It has brass tube functioning landing gear... which may be a challenge. And I need to learn how to use fiberglass in order to make the cowl. So there may be lots of questions along the way. I hope to maiden it by mid summer, I will see how it goes. Chris |

Excellent subject! This will be interesting, especially with all those intricate hand cut parts. I'm sure Rob's design should be a good one also. I've been threatening
to build a larger version since building a little 24" Guillows Storch.

Parts fabrication continues.....
Daddys little builder gluing scraps together...... I'm going to build the tail feathers next, after going almost stir crazy cutting out parts (nowhere near done yet) I feel like I need to glue something. I am still a little fuzzy on how I am going to construct the slat correctly, and how start the plug for the cowling in order to glass it. Other than that, steady as she goes... |

You gotta love the sense of accomplishment when you finally have a full parts set cut out. I never miss taking a hand cut parts set photo. After all that work, it's actually seems effortless to put the model together.
