Default Loss of motor power

Hi

I bought a Champ RTF for my first plane and believe it was a good choice to get started. With some help from an experience friend, I was up and flying quickly. I now have two weeks of almost daily flying with no major crashes.

A day ago I noticed that sometimes the motor would not start at first and then would have minor cut outs in flight. Today the cut outs were longer causing the plane to rise and fall rapid with the loss of power and after a dead stick landing the motor does not funtion at all anymore.

I replaced the the batteries in the transmitter and carefully followed the instructions for binding as though I was starting from scratch and using a fresh receiver battery

I have no motor function at all now. Control surfaces work properly.

Could it be just a loose connection or

I am capable of taking things apart to take a look but that may void any warranty. Very costly to send a $90 plane back though.

What to do.....

Assume you have given it a look over for broken/loose wires to tghe motor?

The little brushed motors don't last very long so it's most likely that's the most likely problem. You can swap the motor out, they are quite cheap. The other possible option is a failing flight battery. Do you have another battery to try?

Thanks

Well I decided to cut the tape and have a look. The motor wires connecter had come unplugged completely. I plugged it back together and it fired right up. In flight it still cuts out a bit so I will tinker with the connection a bit. Maybe the little prongs need a very slight bend to make better contact within the plastic connector.

I have 4 batteries and keep them rotating thru the charger so I have a fresh battery each flight.

For now.....perhaps it is as simple as that.

Thanks again.
