Question Have you started to pack?

OK guys. Have you started to pack yet?

I started last week. My pop up camper is packed and ready to go. Last night I put my bike on the roof just to see how I am going to tie it down. Tomorrow (4-14) I will start packing up my shop. It is amazing how much stuff I take with me. Every year my pile gets bigger and bigger.

Riding a motorcycle again this year, Nick is taking his car so I'm going to haul a couple of things his way for him to carry down. Bringing a night plane this year, so busy during the day I don't have time to get much stick time in!

Take care and thanks for posting at WattFlyer!!

I've got the heavier stuff that can't be shuffled in the car. Table, chairs, EZ-up, that kind of thing. Everything else will have to wait till night before. Don't want to be riding around town hauling all that stuff, lol.

On that note, you want to know the bad thing about hauling your planes and gear in a Mustang?? Everytime you start to gun it, you remember you're going to not only destroy a plane that's precariously perched in the back seat, it's probably going to hit your head as well...

I won't pack until Wed. night it all goes in the bed of my truck. I might do a practice pack to see how I have to get the planes in there. Never carried this many planes at one time in the bed. Everything else clothes, ect. will go in the cab and back seat area.

I need to buy some foam and make some quick cradles for the fuselage's to sit in so they have some protection. Wings are going into 2 big box's that I saved they will be nice and safe.

Weather forecast looks good down there hope mother nature doesn't change her mind.

I will start to pack my truck Thurs evening. I will take it to work on Friday loaded and ready to go. When I get home on Friday, I will hook up my trailer and have some dinner. I hope to be on the road by 5pm. I have a stop in Richmond Va. (picking up a plane and bringing it to SEFF for a guy) I hope to arrive around noon on Saturday.

Last year was my first SEFF and the weather was perfect. I'm hoping for a repeat performance. Looks like we're in for a light show on Monday night...

Back on topic, I haven't started packing because I'm still not finished building! I should have no trouble finishing my night flyer tomorrow though. After that, I guess I'll start getting my stuff together after work each night next week. Actual packing won't start until Sunday. Leaving the driveway as early as possible on Monday morning.

Getting every thing together tonight for packing after work Wed. Have it all in a pile in the garage ready to go into the truck. Planes are ready the batteries are neatly packed in the ammo case. Must not forget the batteries!! Did that once going to the field had to pack up the planes turn around and go home for em. Some tools, charger radio, and the list goes on.

I think getting ready for a camping trip with the 3 kids, and wife was less complicated than this. Hardest part of that was trying to squeeze all their stuff into the bed of a truck with the camping gear.

Tomorrow at work is going to be a loooong day.

Well it is almost time!!

Don be looking forward to meeting you, and a bunch of other watt heads.

Maybe you can share a story, or two about Veet while sitting around the campfire. Sure the hot coals will help jog the memory.

Packing and everything else SEFF related has been on hold. I have been sick for the last 2 1/2 days. Sunday was the last time I was in my shop. I am feeling better, but I am so far behind now. I might be leaving a few planes at home. I just have not had the time to get them done.

Tell ya what 6 planes in the bed of a truck takes up some space fast. With 2 more on the back seat. I think I rechecked every thing 3 times for missing items, and I still feel like I am forgetting stuff.
Must be the pre SEFF trip jitters.

Ya I will be checking the items again before I leave. Been known to forget the batteries at home, ah left my TX at home. That dirt road to the club gets long when you travel it twice just to fly.

Jim see ya at SEFF on sat., and you better get your beauty rest while you can.

I'll be 24 hours behind you. just need to get a FedEx tomorrow before hitting the road. yes, sleep is optional. I had considered sleeping in the Wal-Mart parking lot in town before driving on-site
