Default greatplanes edge 540t #2

this is my second 540t,the first one had its canopy blow off on a high speed run and the canopy got caught on the vertical. this all happened right in front off me as it whizzed by and my first thought was the rear control surfaces broke...i landed hard and screwed the fuse a bit. she would have been repairable easier if the broken fuse hadn't blown off the flight table thus breaking worse...i repaired it at the gain of considerable weight, but felt a new bird would fly better.

i was considering using white electrical tape to secure the canopy but worried it might not hold in the summer heat.

heres pictures of a canopy latch like whats used on 3dhs planes. piece of cake to install. also a few pictures of the motor setup. the first 540t flew really nice on high rates as i was able to control my pattern style flying easily. the cowel is also only held on by magnets . this is an accident waitting to happen so clear packing tape holds it secure.

now heres the joke of the day,i searched online for the best price to replace the wreckage and happened upon omni hobbies where i purchased the first 540 using my wifes google account. the kind of account that holds pay pal info. i closed out to use my paypal account so i keep a record of my online purchases. long story shortened a bit....my wife got a notice i hadn't completed the purchase with payment so she went ahead so omni wouldn't cause her account to have a complaint against it. this wasn't a auction item ,but a buy now item.... ....third 540t was already in the mail when she told me,i would have loved to cancel it for buying a different rc item but it's due here next week. it is after all fathers day.

to all fathers here at wattflyer,i hope you have had a great day!!!you deserve it!

narrow is the place to land...wide is the space to crash....choose the narrow way!

Scha weet ! I just treated myself to two new warbirds. Was having a moment. Still need to assemble my 3DHS Super Vyper.
