Default TEXOMA RC CLUB 4th of July Event

Hey all you are invited to Texoma RC Club 4th of July Event being held at the club field. Festivities start at 2:00 pm with a BBQ (burgers and dogs) Combat Competition, War Birds, 3D Flying, Park Flyers, Giant Scale Airplane Display and show, Me crashing if I fly, and best of all expert flight instruction for anyone interested in the hobby using club members planes. Don't worry I am not an instructor, just a NEWB. At around dark the runway will be cleared and the Fireworks begin.

The Texoma RC Club Field is pretty nice. It has covered area with picnic tables, clean bathrooms (2 Johnnies On The Spot), and concession stand. Although I do suggest you bring lawn chairs as it is expected to be busy.

If you plan to eat Burgers or Dogs you are expected to make a small donation or bring a covered dish. You can bring your own coolers, alcohol is permitted but you will not be allowed to fly if you indulge. All ages are welcome.

The Texoma RC Club field is located just west of Sherman TX off Hwy 82 outside the town of Southmayd. To obtain exact directions and/or see the feild use Google Earth or like application and use coordinates:

lat = 33.643999
lon = -96.750177

Come join us Y'all and make some new freinds.

Sounds like fun!

And for those in the Metroplex going up to Sherman - you pass through MANY small towns with LOW speed limits. You are super wise to be not even 1MPH over the limit. They really like out of town folks so to speak.
