Default Do I Hinge Tape Flaps

I just installed flaps on my Corsiar. Still learning my flap/elevator ratio but I just got to thinking maybe I should add hinge tape to the high side of the flap joints. I do not see where HH suggests it in their how to install flaps videos but is it must or just a good idea. Will it help in durability over time. I do not see it on the rudder of my T28 but I do see it on the high side of the ailerons. What can it hurt. Opinions please

The answer lies in angle the flaps deploy ... often if tape hinge is on top - the angle down is limited ...

You have to trial it to see if flap down is enough and still have a secure tight hinge line.

Personally I prefer installing proper hinges to allow full down defelction and then seal the gap by tape.... at bottom.

The tape will only hold onto the wings and flaps as good as the paint holds onto the foam. I don't think I'd do it. I would search the Corsair threads (On other forums, too) and see what others have done successfully.

I dont use elevator mixing with flaps any more since I got my DX8 TX. I just slow the flap servo to about 3 seconds and it stops any ballooning.

I decided to use hinge tape figured it couldn't hurt long term.
I also started with my Dx6i with flaps at 25% with elevator at -5%.
It did not work that bad but I am going to increase it to 35% next time with elevator at -10%
