Default Parkzone J-3 CUB

Hi all!
I have a Parkzone J3 CUB that I received as a gift several years ago and it still sits in a box on the shelf. It came from the factory with a 600 mAh 8.4v Ni-MH battery pack and a DC peak detect charger. I'm a little leary about using the cigarette lighter as a charger (especially since some new cars don't even have them). Is there an electric charger available and are there more efficient or possibly longer lasting batteries that are compatible with this item?
Thanks

Hi and Welcome to Wattflyers Use a 1300 Mah 2 Cell lipo, here is a nice lipo charger that wont break the Bank, some info from RCuniverse on your Plane, the 1300 mah 2 cell lipo may be lighter than the NiMH battery pack, so you may have to add a little nose weight to get the CG back to stock, a 3 cell lipo will be to much voltage and may very well burn the motor up, the motor in the cub is a 6 volt brush motor. Hope That Helps, Chellie
