Default Revive a DX6 with AnyLink? Is it worth it?

Hi there. I just had a quick question. I have a DX6 and it looks like its just about impossible to find any receivers for it unless I can find someone selling them. Would it be worthwhile to breath a little bit of life and usefulness in to my DX6 with the Tactic Anylink system? I'm just using parkflyers at the moment so the range limitation isn't really an issue for me

Thank you!

Hi Kevin,
If you need a few AR6000 rx's, contact Alpea41 .....you remember Al from the old fairgrounds days....I am sure he can help.
Not sure regarding the Anylink, haven't used them yet.

Hey Ray! Thanks for the tip. I'll look him up and find out. I've been out of the hobby for a long while and I'm trying to start back up again.

It was unfortunately too long of a drive to go down to the fairgrounds for me that often otherwise I would have kept coming. I'll have to stop by again though.

Yeah if I remember you were from Moorpark area right? Yes that is a ride
If you get a chance, we fly out beside the 10fwy and Vineyard in Ontario (near the ONT airport).
Be great to see ya and catch up. Hit me up if you need anything while getting back to flying here, ok?

For entry level radios, the Spektrum DX5 transmitters go for about $60, and about $100 for both the transmitter and receivers.

Also, there are a number of off brand radios that sell for much less.

How about installing the DIY Frsky 2.4 module?
Think it's under 20$ and uses available rx's.

I believe the anylink should work. and for $20, or free with many of the flyzone planes why not try? I know a couple guys who use it on their old 72mhz's when they fly indoor micros, good use for the tech. also a new dx6i is around 120 now, and you can even find sales. for park stuff i've had good luck with orange rx's, for $6 a receiver it's a steal. anything built up balsa or that i would hesitate to hand catch (with significant mass at speed) get's genuine spectrum.

I didn't know those modules were meant for converting old radios to FrSky system. I have been looking at getting the FrSky Taranis when I upgrade my radio (the extra channels and features are overkill but the price and telemetry totally makes me say why not). So if I can already get my hands on a few FrSky rx's then when If/when I get the Taranis i'll already have a bunch of receivers on hand.

I tried googling, but i could not find anything. Do you know of a guide that shows how to install the DIY module in to a DX6 or similar radio?
