I'll have to scratch my head, but I know I've seen a small kit out there of around 20". Probably too small for what you're thinking though.

A well known local flyer had a beautiful handbuilt of around 50" for sale at a swap meet a few years back, for $100. I can still kick myself for not buying it and converting to electric.

Go for the little Shorty's version. I'd like to do one.
Reminds me of my little Sterling Eindecker recently finished and flown. Flew very well, but burnt out the first geared IPS brushed motor on the needed 3s power. Put a second motor in and got a good flight. I really need to put a Feigao in it, so I'll fly it, instead of hanging on the strings.

Peter Rake just sent off a prototype to be test built (58" WS), and following the build thread it looks to be well kitted. The build thread is here, and Peter is a part of it so if you don't know how to contact him you can from the thread as well.
