Default Mansell Models - S Sky Baby RTF - $249

For Sale - Mansell Models 1/4-scale S Sky Baby RTF - $249

Model is built and ready to fly --just add your radio system. The model has only been flown a few times and has never been crashed.

It includes a Grayson Hobby .46-size outrunner motor and mount, 60A ESC, (Non-BEC) aluminum prop collet hub/spinner and APC 12/6E propeller.

When building the model I incorporated many upgrades including:

Bolt-on bottom wing for easy access to fuselage interior.
Magnetic lite-ply battery compartment hatch.
Birch plywood-reinforced wing saddle.
Dual elevator horns for reliability with hardwood dowel pushrod.
Hardwood rudder pushrod.
Basswood wing stringers for strength and durability.
Narrowed, torsion-bar bolt-on main landing gear for scale-appearance and maintainability.
Hidden NACA-style heating exhaust scoop to draw battery heat out of fuselage.
Hardwood elevator and rudder servo mounts.
Bolt-on hardwood and plywood aileron servo mounts.
Magnetic lite-ply battery compartment hatch.
Carbon-fiber upper-lower aileron pushrods with 1/16" Dubro ball joints for precision control.
Painted Park Flyer Plastics pilot.

I will also include with the sale the two sheet printed plans that came with the model that has all the spare parts templates on the plans.

I would prefer local pick-up, (SoCal) but will ship at the buyer's expense. (not recommended due to the required box size)

Dan,

What part of SoCal are you in? I posted a link to your thread in our club's FS/W thread as Tom Mansell was a member of our club until he moved to Utah. The Sky Baby was a popular plane at the field.

I'll be in the LA area this weekend. If any of my club mates wants the plane, I could arrange to pick it up from you if we can work it out.

Thanks, I appreciate the help.

I'm located in South Orange County, CA. I would be willing to deliver the model to anywhere in Orange County.

Default Is this Sky Baby still for sale?

Hey Dan... Just bumped into your post and I was wondering if this Sky Baby was still for sale... I live in South Dakota but I would pay freight plus whatever you think boxing it up is worth to ya.

I appreciate the offer, but shipping the model would be pretty expensive.

It requires a36" x 36" x 24" box that weighs ~10 Lbs. that is valued at $250.

I checked a while ago and shipping via UPS or FedEx would be at least $200.
