Default Hobby King ASK2100 2m glider

I have the HK ASK2100 powered glider and I find it excellent model for a lazy Sunday away from flying my usual hot pushers and EDF's etc.

The one area that really drives me nuts - is the wing joiner rod ... it has a slight bend to give dihedral to the wings. It is awkward to keep wings aligned and fit to the fuselage with the keeper plate etc. I also have to feed servo leads back into the wing seat while doing this. The rod often turns and wing is then out of alignment...

I see on Youtube that one guy replaced the bent rod with a straight arrowshaft .. video shows it still flying well.

Has anyone else solved this 3 hand problem or swapped shaft to a straight one ?

I do not want to make wing hold down any stronger or more robust - as present allows wing to move when caught or mishap saving more damage.

So far no !

Looked for new alloy spar - but couldn't find same diameter ... I don't want to bend the original.

I have thought of a locking screw set into the rod and a slot into a wing tube ...
