Question E flite P51 1.2 Problems Help..

I am fairly new to flying planes. I have a E flite T28 1.2 that I upgraded the ESC to a 65 amp, changed the 3 blade prop to a 2 blade 11x7,I use 4s 3200 in all my planes, this plane flys great with these mods..

On my E flite P51 1.2 I have upgraded to a 65 amp ESC,I am using these same 4s 3200 lipos in it with the stock 4 blade prop. I am seeing my 4s lipos starting to slightly swell.. What are your thoughts on this issue?

Thanks,

Need to do a wattmeter check. What is the C rating on your batterie?. You could be pulling alot of Amps and the battery is rated for that much burst. If that makes any sense.

Happy flying may your crashes be limited and if they are not limited let them be cool.

That plane flies stock on 3s 3000mAh 30c packs. Battery getting hot? Stored at 3.85 volts per cell? Wattmeter would probably show a need to prop down for motor limits, on 4 cell.

I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to B.S.

So, you're storing your batteries with full charges, and they are slightly swollen? Please tell me they are stored in some type of fireproof container.

Your charger should have a discharge/storage function. I recommend you use it in the future. Be careful with those swollen packs, too.

The issue of battery life being reduced by to less than 3.4v, over heating and not checking (testing) amp's under load with a meter was discussed under this thread......:

Storing lipo's "topped off" is a disaster waiting to happen.........."puffed packs" are a sign of stress.......and they seldom return to "normal" power quality range once damaged.
