Default scale microlight

Hi guys,
This is a video of my scratchbuilt microlight,
Its steered by weightshift just like the real ones, speed controlled by wing pitch changes and altitude by using the throttle.

construction is by using aluminium, fibreglass rods, ripstop nylon and lightweight machined titanium brackets.

ive recently started sewing my own wing sails so will hopefully look abit neater soon

Very nice work, Mark! And a nice video. Thanks for sharing it. Looks like you put a lot of time and work in attention to detail.

Mark: That's a very neat video. I was particularly impressed with the pilots careful attention to his surroundings. Does his head move with the swing of the steering system or is it a seperate function?

I was also taken by the buildings below with the sweeping spirals in their arrangement, where was the video made?

Thanks guys
Yeah it took a long time to make as I only had real microlights/hang gliders to go off,
Was really good fun though designing and making it from scratch,
Although not knowing if it was going to fly was a real gamble and couldve easily been a total waste of time lol

Being after a scale looking microlight I really didnt want to resort to the rogallo or delta kite wing shape or even worse- use a rudder or wingwarping for steering.

The head is on a y lead to the rudder channel and front wheel steering servo,
on these videos I disconnected the front wheel servo cus was hand launching.

Great pics! The microlight is a good bit larger than I had thought. Again very nice work, and superb detailing.

Thanks, its just under two meter wingspan.

Im going to try fpv from it again soon,
I did it a year or so ago but the camera was in the wrong place so couldnt see the ground properly lol

Will try it again with camera repositioned and see how it goes
