Default Piper Cherokee ... not so many around ...

Once upon a time - you could see a Cherokee model at most flight meets ... now it seems not so popular.

None on HK ... and many online don't show them for sale.

I agree it's not the best model with it's low wing and constant chord etc. - but it still can be a pretty addition.

I had a 45" job back in 80's ... and looking to have another ... I have a couple of plans ... one at 36" and other at 72" ... so it's a toss-up which one and how powered ... 36 is obviously good for modest E-Power ... the 72 for gasoline ...

I bought a Great Planes Cherokee gas model from a friend and am converting her to electric. 46 BL motor. Installing servoless electrics making it a Piper Arrow. Big problems with installing the HK 120 size retracts. Might have fried them. Bought another set from Phillip@ PW-RC in Hong Kong. lane AUW will be ~ 6#

Henry,

That's the exact plane I'm working on now. Been around a long time and still a good seller. Not sure if Tower ships to Latvia though. I'm a Tower member.
The Phoenix Tucano EMB312 EP is the buy of the century. 120 shipped.

I think there's another Cherokee out there but way more expensive. Seagull was making a nice Piper Commanche. Gorgeous twin.

I think Nigel would build from plans.

My comment actually is more that so many Cessna but few Cherokees !

Latvia is a dead area for most models in fact - with only 2.3 mill population and most cannot afford such luxuries .. no real business for serious model shop.

HK doesn't even list one that I can find ...

I would like to build a kit one .. I have a couple of plans - but would be nice once in a while having the work done for me !!

Nonsense. Why this place has "RC Batterias bandages and power switches." Why, we can't even get RC bandages in Kansas!

I actually know and fly with the Father / Daughter owners of that 'shop' .... it's run as a side-line to their main business.

Karina is actually seen talking with me in videos on my Youtube site ... If you check out 'her' ohoto gallery etc. on the shop site - you will see my Concorde / Skymaster bipe ...

The inventory is limited as I say - with the limited following in Latvia - it's difficult to carry all needed and make profits.
Karina is the supplier of my Smoke gear ...

I shall be visiting them when I return home ... as I need more Glow Fuel ... and seeing whether they have any interesting model I can crack open my wallet for !

The shop that had a larger inventory was PILOTAGE.LV - as sub of the main Russian retailer ... but that closed down for the very reason I gave ... limited number of RC'rs in Latvia.

I have a Comet kit that I got on Ebay and need to build. The Sterling kit is even nicer. Love the Cherokee solentlife. I had a Herr Cherokee that I gave away, but it wasn't scale and just didn't have the look. Good flyer though. They can be found on Ebay too.
