Default DJI Inspire Maiden

Well I got my DJI Inspire on Thursday, spent Friday afternoon going through the manual, updating the firmware, installing the iOS app on my ipad. All went great. I also ran the flight sim (included) and was ready for my Saturday maiden.

I ran through the startup, launched the app, got the map, all the data was live, and energized the props....

As she lifted a hush fell over the crowd, and everyone was clearly impressed. The Inspire is just that... Inspirational! She's quiet, sleek, smooth and just Sexay!

My buddies were flying their quads, and one of them snapped this pic... you can see the crowd around me, I'm the one sitting with the goggles (Zeiss Cinemizers).

First flight was all manual, on the 2nd flight I did the auto takeoff, played with IOC and Atti modes, and auto landing. All went flawlessly.... Man I love this quad!

That's one very nice and (pricey) quad.......it's certainly a professional set-up........seems everything you need is provided as a package.

What type and how do you like the 4K camera and gimble set-up.....?

I can say I'm extremely impressed with the DJI camera and gimbal. I did take these two photos on the lowest camera setting (having shutter control on the TX is awesome). One, of the quad that took the photo of me, and another of our little search and rescue dummy Billy Whitespot. And pizzano, let me comment on price... Sure, $3K is a bit when you go to plunk down the coins, but I have built Phantom's for customers that have spent more. By the time you install autonomous, OSD, bluetooth and Lightbridge, you've spent $4k on a Phantom. Plus you dont have 2 TX's with seperate camera control. Getting it all in one package, with the A2 controller, is really a bargain by comparison.

This was the lowest setting on the camera!

The price point is well taken.....especially for that quality and all-in one package.....!

That seperate TX shutter control is a very nice feature......again contributing quality........I may never be able to afford such a rig, but I certainly appreciate DJI products and their consistent innovation.

I'l have to find out if any of my quad buddies are thinkig about this new model.....I know at least one of them has + $4K wrapped up in his rig.

Thnaks for sharing Nitro......hope you post a vid or two with it.....!

I will... This is the last shoot I did with my Phantom,

I'm looking forward to using the Inspire 1. If anyone you know is looking for one, hit me up. Lowest prices around!

Very cool, DJI certainly seem to have captured people's imagination with the Inspire.

Good call updating the firmware before you flew. I found this video which was apparently due to a firmware 'bug' (though test flying it in totally the wrong place was IMHO the the guy's biggest mistake):

Nice dent in the garage door!

JPF, thats not a test... that guy was attempting to film that house for a real estate broker...

1st mistake, flying a rig on a job without checking it out
2nd mistake, being a dumb ass

I flew the prototypes, and we had one want to do the same thing, however, the moment you moved the sticks, it would stop forward motion and hover. This guy just froze in panic and watched it go in.

I guess he knocked $1000 off the asking price of the house due to the dent

As you say.. what a dumb ass! If you ask me these quads with their amazing flight systems make it far too easy for people who don't have a clue how to fly, to fly anyway.
Everything is fine until all the clever computer stuff does what computers occasionally do and 'falls over'. Then these guys are just like a rabbit in the headlight, not the foggiest notion of what to do to save the situation.
