a long time ago i removed a hitec 6channel optimum rx from a foamie superfly and accidentally pulled the antenna wire out. i tossed it in the drawer and figured it to be garbage since i wasn't going to open the case to even investigate it's repair at home.
a few weeks ago i went online to see if i might locate where to send it in for repair. Hitec has a form you can fill out and send them proof of purchase, and where you get it from plus a receipt for warranty purposes. i didn't have these so i just figured i'd send the broken rx in offer to pay for the repair if it costs less than $39 for a new one. my shipping cost was $2,i also told them to toss it away if it isn't worth my paying for it as i could always buy a new one.
as you all guessed,it arrived to my house without any prior notice , a brand new 6 channel rx.
hitec rocks in customer service. this is my second time complimenting them and their customer service.
narrow is the place to land...wide is the space to crash....choose the narrow way!
I have a HiTec 36 Mhz Rx that suddenly lost range. Still works but I am now 2.4Ghz.
Plane did a bellyflop and survived with no damage.
Antenna still looks OK so it is a mystery. It now just sits in the cupboard.
Compared to RXs nowadays, they are dinosaurs. About 4 times the size of RXs I use now.
Probably the Xtals are the most expensive part for HiTec FM nowadays.
