Default Minium Edge 540 Flight Time Issue

Hi everyone!

I have had a recent issue with one of my foam park flyers. It is suddenly very down on power and depleting its battery much faster than usual (about 1 minute as opposed to 10). I have tried a number of different batteries, and two different chargers. The batteries work fine in another aircraft so I know the problem must be to do with the aircraft itself.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I have had the plane for around 3 or 4 years now, my dad suggested it could be that the motor has burned out?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Wattflyers

Your Dad Is Right Those use a brush motor, and brush motors dont last very long, get a new motor for it. also lube the bearings/bushings on the gear drive. Also, use a piece of Paper to get the proper gear mesh clearance, put the paper between the gears, there should be a little clearance between the gears.

I may be getting Older, But I Refuse to grow Up I am Having to much Fun to Grow Up LOL

Thanks for the advice Chellie.

Any ideas on how I remove the motor? I have looked online but cannot find a tutorial. I assume you just pull it out with pliers or something but I don't want to damage the plane.

I have included a picture at the bottom of this message.

On closer inspection there seems to be some form of black glue holding the motor in its mount.

UPDATE: I have the motor out now, just scraped away the glue and pulled it out.
