That would be cool to mess around with at our local park that has a small lake. Where do you get the kit to convert the SS?

Way cool Bill. I have 2 Sticks and have been tossing around the idea of getting floats for one of them. Even though I'm in the desert, we have a few ponds around here in parks that I can fly from.

This is the building thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...at#post5379931
The designer is Jimsp and the kit he sells is beautifully done and very complete. This thing is a blast to fly! BTW I saw the pilot somewhere and spent a little time trying to get it drawn and cut out on some depron I had. Very cartoonish and appropriate for the boat. |

You are not a true leccy flyer unless you own either a GWS Slow Stick, or a Multiplex EasyStar (or both!) :p

Short hand for "electric". Also a derogative nickname, like "slimer". But I pay no attention to that derogative stuff.

Electric? Dang it. All my planes have glo engines on them! I've been in the wrong forum all this time. No wonder I can't figure this stuff out.

Beautiful morning and I went down to the cove to fly the SS. Flew just as it should but the wind was starting to pick up so I set it up for a landing. Did I tell you this thing loves to fly? I had to use down elevator to get it into a better glide angle for landing.
Well I was pressing my luck. Landing was uneventful but bringing her back to the dock was not. About 1/2 way back, the wind flipped her over on to her wings. Panic!!! Actually while I was getting to her, I noticed that it is VERY buoyant and the only electronic getting wet was part of the brushless. The only water that hit the rest of the gear was drippings from the boat - which was on top now. Me in my Pj's, water in the boat swashing around my ankles, paddling like a mad man (the battery on the electric boat motor was dead), trying to save my "new" plane. She just waited patiently saying "what's taking you so long?". Thank goodness no one else in the house was awake to witness this. |

That's my fear of putting floats on a plane - if I go to a public pond/lake to fly and something happens - well swim time

I have two Golden Retreivers. Will that work? They're good at fetching "Sticks".

Yes but the teeth marks on the wing might present a problem.

Now I know I'm in trouble. I don't know what gerogative is. I'm hoping it was a typo. :-) |
