Exclamation Looking for Channel Change Mod info

So far I haven't found much on the channel changing mod. I did find this picture which apparently shows where to solder in wires, but not much in the way of explaining what all I need or what.

If someone has the information about what kind of switch I need to buy and perhaps some instructions on how to do this mod, I would greatly appreciate it.

See... I have two AHAA's. The planes are both great, one of the controllers however, is not... it has a problem where the throttle wants to go to full blast unless I PULL down on the throttle stick, almost bending the stick itself. This has the effect of rendering that particular plane very difficult to fly since I don't have adequate throttle control on it.

If someone has a fix for me on how to fix the controller that is goofy, that could help as well, but I just assume put a channel switch on my good controller and use it for both planes.

Thanks in advance.

Lol!! I copied that pic. It did not work. What you need to do is get a SPDT toggle switch "Mini center off" 26 gauge solid wire one spool red one spool black . In the pic you have there make sure that little blob of solder is in the middle like pic .I think thats A channel. Solder red to it and the two black to the sides of it and your done!!! I'll post the pic of mine, And my solder skills suck!

Excellent. Thanks for that. I will be heading out to radio shack tomorrow to go pick up the nessicary stuff to add that in.

List:
1 - SPDT Toggle Switch "Mini Center Off"
1 - Spool of 26 gauge, Solid wire, Black
1 - Spool of 26 gauge, Solid wire, Red
and a little skill at soldering.

Out of curiosity, why that gauge of wire and why solid?

Its small enough to work with, and you want it to stay put and not flexable at solder connections. The solder connections are really small,I would have used smaller wire if i found it.

Thanks for posting this, you made it perfecly clear how to do the mod.

pics worth a million words + 10;

I orderd some mini toggles, ( 3 ) and 20 diodes. Im good to go ( we have no radio shack near by and i could not find a store that sold mini toggle just big and medium size. so figure id pick up soem diodes since i used the last 4 i had in my eletronic parts organizer. never know when you may need one i guess ) , I will mod three TX and as long they dont where out ill be good to go.

I picked up my stuff today to do the mod. I will most likely have it done tomorrow.

By the way... the drawers they have at radio shack with the switches in them... I found my switch in one that wasn't very clearly labeled.

This looks like a great mod. Does it really help at all?

Some of my friends and I have all bought various aero aces. We have noticed interference between radios that are on different channels.

My friend has a 27 A and I have a 27 B. We will get interference between the radios.

The interference does not give you control of the other plane it just kills the controls for the other guy.

Is this mod worth it? Is there a way to change the frequency up or down a notch? Like 28 or 26?

all the AA operate on the same freq. Only difference is A=6 per second B=7, and C=8. The mod doesn't help with interference. It just helps if you have a couple planes on different freq. When you want to fly a different plane you switch freq. You can also add a switch on the Reciever, but you have to be fairly decent with an iron.

If its not broke, try harder.
