Does anyone have experience as to what type of paint to spray the Trex Body ?? I was thinking of using Lacquer through an airbrush ??? Is a primer needed for the plastic(whatkind??)

I usually sand the plastic canopy to help the paint adhere to its surface. Yes I would go with a simple can of grey primer, a couple coats sanding in between. Then like two light coats of your primary color. Then gloss. One coat maybe two. Lacquer paint is fine just remember too thick or too many coats and it chips real easy.

thanks for the reply...I remember some years back that castor oil was a good plasticizer to cut down on the chipping.....

i've used krylon fusion as a base coat to paint plastic heli canopies. it is cheap and works well. after you spray the base coat you can airbrush over it.

if you are interested in the process i used follow this link to my RR gallery:
