I'm trying to decide what motor to put in my CAP232 (7.6 oz. empty)
Been looking at the Align 450 1000kw outrunners but I can't decide between the 450S and the 450L.
Dimensions of both:
The specs on the S are:

●Input voltage: DC7.4~12.6v
●Max Efficicy:90%
●Max Contimuous current:13A
●Max Output Power:130W(prox.)
●KV Value:1000KV
●Dimension: spindle 3.16x28x27.65mm
●Weight: 45g (prox.)

Their motor test sheet shows the S running on 11.1v swinging a 11x4.7 prop draws 10.4 amps and produces 24 ounces of thrust.

The specs on the L

●Input voltage: DC7.4~12.6v
●Max Efficicy:91%
●Max Contimuous current:15A
●Max Output Power:150W(prox.)
●KV Value:1000KV
●Dimension: spindle 3.16x28x32.55mm
●Weight: 58g (prox.)

Their motor test sheet shows the L running on 11.1v swinging a 11x4.7 prop draws 12.4 amps and produces 29.5 ounces of thrust.

Seems like a lot more for only 2 more amps, 1/2 an ounce of weight and $5 more in price.

My mind keeps saying MORE POWER but I'm not sure which to get.

Fact is, if I had to get an Align motor I'd probably go with the bigger one in that plane. But since I don't, I'd put some thought to the above. Similar thrust from a 10x6 (at greater pitch speed) with room to grow, and a little less weight.
